New Office Search after Lease Expiry
A lease expiry gave High Wycombe based accountancy firm Seymour Taylor a great opportunity to find a new modern office space that would reflect the forward-thinking firm that they are today.
Seymour Taylor wanted a flexible office space that would allow their team to work differently providing the right office environment for the future of the business.
The Joint Managing Directors, Joanne Kingsnorth and Liz Horton, had been looking for the right premises for the business. They had a list of requirements and knew the new office would require lease negotiations, surveys and permissions. They contacted Jaggard Macland who could provide the expert lease knowledge and assistance with the property negotiations.
Working alongside Seymour Taylor, Simon Harper, Partner and Head of Tenant Advisory, was able to establish the full list of needs of the business. Location was non-negotiable. Seymour Taylor needed to be in High Wycombe. As one of the longest established accountancy firms in Buckinghamshire, maintaining proximity to clients, as well as retaining their experienced team, was important.
Simon’s knowledge of the local property market and contacts in the industry were invaluable and meant he was able to draw up a shortlist of suitable premises alongside the pros and cons of each.
When Simon took Joanne and Liz to view the suite at 40 Oxford Road, they knew immediately that it offered everything they were looking for to create a new contemporary office. The huge bonus was that the space was already fitted with cellular meeting rooms, break out spaces and furniture, meaning the business was able to save an enormous amount on upfront costs and time.
Simon acted as Seymour Taylor’s representative, from finding the office space, through to arranging all necessary surveys and getting consents. He also negotiated with the landlord to secure favourable terms for Seymour Taylor, as he explains: “Finding suitable premises is part of our job, but I believe I really add value by securing a lease on competitive terms that will benefit my clients for the entirety of their occupation. Gaining a full understanding of a business means I can further anticipate their needs and negotiate on their behalf, helping to future-proof their business premises and ensure the organisation can thrive in its new environment.”
Knowing they had a trusted partner managing the relocation meant that the Seymour Taylor directors were able to continue focusing on the running of their business, whilst Simon dealt with the legal documentation of the transaction.
Joanne says: “We truly believe that our relocation would have been much more time consuming without Simon’s expertise. He made the process much smoother and we knew we were in safe hands. It made a huge difference to the process.”
If you are a company looking to secure a new space for your business, whether retail, office or warehouse space, Jaggard Macland can manage the whole process, from start to finish.
