A Wealth of Building Surveying Experience

Gary brings a wealth of expertise to the practice, with an impressive track record that includes work for The Howard de Walden Estate, Eton College, and English Heritage. His appointment further strengthens our building consultancy offering and means we now have additional capacity to respond quickly to survey requests and client instructions. We know how important being able to act promptly can be in getting a sale over the line.

Gary specialises in historic buildings, with a strong focus on defect analysis. His experience covers everything from planning and building regulation approvals to preparing schedules of work and managing technical compliance across a wide range of sites.

Why Building Surveying?

One of the things Gary enjoys most about building surveying is the variety the job offers. He explains, “I have surveyed scheduled monuments like Roman ruins, parts of Hadrian’s Wall to listed buildings to modern constructions and everything in between. There are many different threads to building surveying including building pathology, design and project management which make the role challenging and interesting.”

Gary’s role at Durham University, in the heart of the world heritage site of Durham, gave him the opportunity to work on both historic buildings as well as the more modern parts of the university campus.
